Update on my recent writing activities. 'Breath of Corruption', seventh in the Caper Court series, which was published last year, is now in its second printing and selling well. My thanks to all the lovely readers who have been in touch to say how much they enjoyed it. And yes, I shall be writing another in the series, and bringing back (by popular demand) characters such as Sarah Colman and Charles Beecham.

I've spent the recent months taking a rest from Leo & Co to write a stand-alone novel about a middle-aged jobbing actress about to make a big breakthrough in the fame stakes, only to find the demands of her family, including an ex-husband suffering from dementia, threatening to mess everything up for her. It's with my agent at the moment, and I'm waiting to hear whether she likes it - always a horrible, nail-biting time for an author.

In the meantime, I'm putting out a call for a talented illustrator! About eighteen months ago I wrote a long poem for older children, entitled 'Songs Of The Three Kingdoms'. My published absolutely loved it,but the children's market is a notoriously tricky one to break into. It occurred to me that illustrations might help. The poem is about dragons, battles, adventures, witches, etc, and quite dark in places, so it needs something more than fun, lightweight illustrations. There's no money in it at the moment - though if it sells there will be. If someone out there feels like doing some preliminary illustrations, do get in touch.

Because I've been busy with the latest book, I've rather neglected the blog, but I'll be getting it up and running again shortly, and putting out more feelers about the poem. Watch this space for developments.
